SS400 Sheets and Plates are made from carbon steel, primarily consisting of iron with small amounts of carbon (up to 0.25%), manganese (up to 1.4%), phosphorus (maximum 0.050%), and sulfur (maximum 0.050%). These components give the material excellent weldability and formability. The mechanical properties feature a minimum tensile strength ranging from 400 to 510 MPa, a yield strength of at least 245 MPa, and a good elongation of about 20%.
